3M™ Fibre Disc Back-Up Pad With Retainer Nut is made to drive and support fibre backed discs during sanding, grinding, or finishing processes. This essential pad is designed to fit right 5 8 -11 spindle angle sanders or grinders equipped for TN Quick Change style attachments

The 3M™ Fibre Disc Back-Up Pad is a ribbed, one-piece construction with holes, designed for cool running of 3M™ Fibre Discs. The firm pad allows for good breakdown of various minerals, including discs using ceramic minerals, such as 3M™ Cubitron™ Products. Each pad, along with one retainer nut, is conveniently packaged in an easy open box.

Why use a 3M™ Back-Up Pad?

These back-up pads are a good blend between price and performance.  They are pretty stiff which is needed for breaking down the abrasive grain and efficient grinding.  They come with a retainer nut, and don’t soften too much when under heavy heat.  Economy back up pads soften very quickly and do not let the user get the full life out of the fibre disc.
